The Classy Gourmet
The Classy Gourmet’s fully coordinated culinary arts center combines education, entertainment, and enjoyment. It is our goal to increase our student’s culinary knowledge, to motivate and inspire them to try new things, and to educate and increase public awareness of the fine Chef’s, Caterers, Personal Chefs, Culinary Clubs, and Wine Shops in The Omaha and surrounding Metro area.
We have shelves of cookbooks and magazines to browse or purchase, many of which will be featured in the cooking classes. The retail gourmet food products, spices and sauces are top quality, competitively priced and conveniently located in the store. Small appliances, tableware, utensils, pottery, and linens will be available and often demonstrated. Easy access to hard to find ingredients and gadgets needed for the featured recipes will be discounted after cooking class to save the time and expenses of driving around town and possibly forgetting necessary ingredients and tools. It is our hope that anyone who shares even the slightest appreciation for fine food and wine will find an area of interest at The Classy Gourmet.
Founded in 2002 and located in the Clocktower Village, The Classy Gourmet is Omaha's finest recreational cooking school. In the last three years, The Classy Gourmet has won several awards including multiple winner of the VNA Art & Soup competition, Taste of the Nation Chef Completion, our cooking school has also enjoyed wide acclaim for its SAVEUR cooking classes and preparations of regional cuisine.
Owner Colleen Cleek is a Columnist for One Magazine writing Food For Thought and contributing recipes to several local news stations and publications, she is also the KETV-7 Local Food & Wine Expert and the Host of The Classy Gourmet Television show. Since its inception The Classy Gourmet has had a unique focus on business in the Omaha community, offering such services as; Team Building, Corporate Events, Private Events, Holiday Parties, and Boutique Catering.
