Welcome to the Amber House, a luxury bed and breakfast, located in the historic village of Rocheport, Missouri, two blocks from the Katy Trail. Amber House combines Victorian elegance with fine furnishings, antiques, light-filled rooms and modern amenities.
Gourmet Weekends
Our first Gourmet Weekend, "Holiday Entertaining 101," will be held in November 30 - December 1. We'll work with two great menus, recipes and caterers' tips for successful holiday entertaining with less stress - casual supper Friday and "wow" dinner party menu Saturday.
The second Gourmet Weekend, our popular "Sweetheart Weekend" will be held February 22 - 23. A unique way to spend time with that special someone working in a professional kitchen. Enjoy a casual supper Friday night, and a romantic candlelight dinner, including a special Valentine dessert on Saturday night.
Each Gourmet Weekend package includes:
Two night accommodations; Friday night icebreaker reception featuring discussion of food and wine pairing and tasting presented by Les Bourgeois Winery vintner; cooking lesson and Friday evening supper; Saturday sous chef session; Special vintner's tour of Les Bourgeois on Saturday; Final dinner prep class and multi-course dinner Saturday night.
Food and Wine Lovers' Weekends
We will also be offering an opportunity for groups (8 - 12 participants) to schedule a Food and Wine Lovers' Weekend that will include:
Two night accommodations; Wine and gourmet cheese reception upon check-in Friday evening; Special vintner's tour of Les Bourgeois Winery on Saturday; Fabulous dinner with appropriate wines served Saturday evening.
Two In the Kitchen Cooking School
Also new this year will be two different formats for individual cooking classes.
Wednesday evening classes - can be scheduled from November through April. These 2-hour hands-on sessions will focus on a special topic or technique.
Lunch & Learn - Mary presented scores of these fun classes while Director of Sweet Basil Cooking School in Scottsdale. Enjoy a cooking demonstration followed by a gourmet lunch.
