The Santa Fe School of Cooking can tailor make a class or celebration to fit your needs. Whether you're planning a corporate event, wedding shower, birthday party, family reunion, or just a party, let us design a memorable experience. We can prepare for a private class of one or a large group. In addition to our entertaining and delicious demonstration classes, we offer hands-on cooking classes, which can be geared to the recreational cook or the seasoned professional unfamiliar with southwestern foods. Having a family reunion? We offer The Family Cookin' Class, which provides an opportunity for adults and kids to spend time in the kitchen together and get a taste of the local cuisine.

Hands-On:

Do you love chile? Are you curious but unfamiliar? Our Chile Amor class will delight those already familiar with New Mexico's official state vegetable and light the fires of passion for those yet uninitiated. Here in the Land of Enchantment, chile is more than an ingredient; it is the embodiment of a diverse and rich cultural heritage and a distinctive Southwestern lifestyle. Participants will explore chile's unique culinary and medicinal qualities, learn to identify different varieties, and discover how to handle them safely and efficiently in the kitchen. After the introduction, we will don aprons and prepare red and green chile sauces and homemade tortillas to taste!

Our Family Cookin' Class provides an opportunity to spend time in the kitchen with your kids and get a taste of the local cuisine. Families learn the basics of Southwestern cooking and then participate in the preparation of homemade flour tortillas, red chile sauce, and quesadillas. Each student will choose the ingredients for their own creation to sample and share. Minimum age: six years.

Demonstration:

We have also added afternoon Southwest Tapas classes. Many people visit Santa Fe and understandably get so busy eating at our famous restaurants that they don't have time to fit in a cooking class. We don't want you to leave without a chance to sample and learn about the unusual flavors and special ingredients that contribute to the incomparable experience that is Southwestern food. In this format, instructors will serve each tapa as it is prepared - as opposed to eating a large meal at the end of class.
