SIMPLY DELICIOUS INDIAN

Learn to cook authentic Indian cuisine in a fun, hands-on atmosphere. You will create and sample delicious Indian dishes under the instruction of a private cooking instructor. Great for team building, birthday parties, or a couple’s night out! Simply Delicious Indian services the MD/VA/WV area.

Professional cooking instructor Rajni Hatti was inspired by a family of great cooks and a love of Indian culinary culture and launched Simply Delicious Indian in 2005.  Rajni teaches a wide array of Indian cooking classes in the metro DC area. She has appeared on the TV show “Cooking Fresh, Cooking Local”, giving viewers an inside look at creating easy, authentic Indian cuisine.  Rajni also writes cooking articles which have appeared in various South Asian magazines. Her website, www.deliciousindian.com, showcases many of her recipes, along with a detailed look at cooking Indian cuisine.

Her classes teach a simple approach to Indian cooking that anyone can learn. She demystifies Indian spices and ingredients and makes it easy to cook Indian cuisine right in your own kitchen.

YOGURT MINT CHUTNEY

Fresh herbs are often used in Indian cuisine to create bright and flavorful chutneys. This chutney is typically used as a dipping sauce for fried foods, or served with lamb dishes.  This chutney can be refrigerated for up to 3 days in an airtight container.

Ingredients:
1 cup cilantro, thick stems removed
1 cup mint, thick stems removed
¾ cup low fat plain yogurt
1 Serrano green chili, chopped
1 medium garlic clove
½ teaspoon peeled grated ginger
1 teaspoon vinegar
½ teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
¼ teaspoon salt, adjust to taste

Instructions:
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with samosas or kebabs.
