Settle yourself in one of 28 individually designed rooms and suites. All guests will enjoy a sumptuous retreat with period antiques, European bedding and luxurious linens. Each room was themed in the style of a different European province, not only in the selection of colors and furnishings, but also the wall hangings and decoration. All rooms have a fireplace, individual floor designs from Spanish tiles to walnut parquet, 10’ ceilings and king size beds. The style of each room reflects not only a different geographical area but also different periods of history. European-style continental breakfast for two each morning, including croissants, pastries, fresh fruit, house made breads and more.

Five-Course Cooking Class Dinner with Wine Pairing

This is not your traditional cooking class, but an evening of culinary entertainment. Learn how to prepare a gourmet, five-course dinner while being served the complete meal paired with fine wines. You’ll be guided along this epicurean journey by Chef John Gonzales, noted cookbook author, TV personality and past Chef de Cuisine at the Watergate Hotel, Jockey Club and the Washington, DC Ritz-Carlton. Menus vary depending upon the season, but could include Sweet Potato Bisque with Candied Bourbon Pecans, Seared Sea Scallops with Lemon Beurre Blanc, Applewood Seared New York Strip, Tangerine & Ginger Crème Brûlée, Pistachio Crusted Chesapeake Rockfish and Chocolate Ganache Layer Cake…just to name a few previous selections. However, locally-sourced, sustainable cuisine is always on the menu!

No visit to Virginia's Historic Triangle is complete without a visit to The Williamsburg Winery, where you will be transported back in time and across the sea to an early 18th century European winery. The spirit of winemakers who have practiced their craft over centuries has been carried-forward as wines are prepared in the classic European-style. This extensive tour and reserve wine tasting at begins in the winery’s private wine cellar. You will sample and compare some of the reserve wines produced at the winery with selected vintages from their library collection. A sampler of assorted cheese and crackers will complement your personalized tasting and you will take home an oversized etched reserve wine glass to remember your tasting. You will also receive a guided tour of the winery, after which you will enjoy lunch at the Gabriel Archer Tavern overlooking the vineyards.
