Atlantic Spice Company Tour
Tour the famous Atlantic Spice Company with Chef Norma Jean. “The Atlantic Spice Company is always the first stop on my favorite “stay-cation”; a trip down “Sensory Lane” on the outer Cape. It doesn’t look like much from the outside and it’s a whole lot more than the name implies once you step inside. I love to stop in the doorway for a moment as I enter, closing my eyes to enjoy the bliss of a deep inhalation, trying not to…Mmmmm…too loudly. The spices, herbs, botanicals, fragrance oils and teas combine to provide an olfactory thrill that somehow doesn’t overwhelm; it simply elicits a sigh and a smile of contentment!”
Bill’s Bog - Cranberry Bog Tour
Nestled among the towns and villages of Southeastern Massachusetts are more than 14,000 acres of cranberry bogs. Massachusetts cranberry growers have built a proud tradition as stewards of the land, protecting the state's fragile resources and an important part of our natural heritage. Cape Cod lays claim to the majority of cranberry production in the United States. Its history began back when the Indians introduced cranberries to the Pilgrims in the early 1600s. You’ll get to witness first-hand how cranberries are harvested, and get to taste a big, delicious fudgy Cape Cod Cranberry-Chocolate Chip Brownie!
Hands-On Cooking Class & Gourmet Dinner
We’ll all meet up in the inn’s professional restaurant kitchen at 2:30 PM to start preparing our meal! This is a hands-on class, but if you’re more comfortable watching, that’s fine. Our cooking class students range from accomplished home cooks and foodies to novices who just enjoy good food. All are welcome and questions are encouraged throughout the class. We’ll take a break sometime around 5 PM and return at about 6 PM to enjoy a regional wine tasting with the appetizers we have prepared. Following the wine tasting, we’ll serve ourselves and head for the dining room to enjoy dinner together. We usually finish up at about 8:30 PM. Students receive a complete recipe packet to take home.
Saturday Breakfast & Sunday Brunch
Saturday morning begins as you awaken to the aroma of a gourmet breakfast served at a leisurely hour between 8:30 and 9:30 am. A dining experience in and of itself, you will be tempted with fabulous entrees as well as fresh fruits and juices. On Sunday morning you will be treated to a “kicked-up” version of the already scrumptious breakfast. What a great way to wrap up your Cape Cod Culinary Retreat; a satiated belly and a mind full of memories!
