Day 1

Upon arriving in Milan or Zurich, embark on a picturesque train journey to Minusio, a charming town in the Ticino region of Switzerland. For a touch of luxury, opt for a private transfer from Milan. Your destination is the enchanting Hotel Remorino, perfectly perched and nestled on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Unwind in your room, complete with a balcony offering in lovely views of the properties intimate pool, and landscaped gardens, along with a backdrop of the breathtaking majestic Alps and the serene lake below. After your bountiful breakfast you will be transported to Valle di Muggio to a picturesque, historic mill where the gentle sound of the waterwheel turning creates a soothing welcome as you are guided to witness the fascinating milling demonstration powered by water for grinding mais into polenta. Sit next to the river and savor delicious local cheeses and wine, while mill owner, Irene Petaglio, shares captivating stories about its history and the milling process. Next, it's off to a hidden gem from the Valle di Muggio where a local artisan cheesemaker will introduce you to the delightful flavors of tangy and golden Zincarlin cheese. You'll hear fascinating stories about its heritage from local artisans and learn about the meticulous process of making Zincarlin, which includes unique aging in a special cellar in Salorino, where it's lovingly rubbed with white wine to develop its distinctive rind. Embark on a delightful journey with Sandro Vanini, where tradition meets exquisite taste. After a relaxed morning, we are off by train, one stop away to Locarno where you will be welcomed by the talented cooking duo, Carola and Maria, in their kitchen for a hands-on gnocchi cooking class. Enjoy creating antipasto focaccia, gnocchi con farina bona (a traditional corn flour from this region), and dolce. As you savor your culinary creations, you will be treated to a Merlot from the region, perfectly paired with your meal.
